The Winter 2024/25 AMOS Projects

We are happy to report that the winter 2024/25 AMOS projects are off to a good start. This semester’s industry partners Shell, SEP, e.solutions, and MUMBI are working with our computer science student teams of size 8-10 people each to develop open-source software they’d like to see and use. The projects are:

  • Shell: Data quality assurance in RTDIP event streams
  • SEP: Backup metadata analysis to identify anomalies
  • e.solutions: Debugging the Android Auto kernel
  • MUMBI: Personalized play to help child mental health

Looking for guest speakers

For the current semester, we are now looking for industry guest speakers who would like to share some of their knowledge and experiences about agile methods and open-source software development with our students. If you would like to give a talk, please get in touch with me. Available time slots are Wed Dec 11th, Jan 8th, Jan 15th, and Jan 29th, always at 10:15am CET for up to 90 minutes, all online.

About The AMOS Project

The AMOS Project is a course at U Erlangen, TU Berlin, and FU Berlin. Student Scrum teams develop open-source software based on industry (partner) requirements. Each student invests 300h of work. The AMOS Project runs every semester (every six months). Industry participates to get open source work done, recruit students, and benefit from student innovation.

We have run more than 100 projects with industry now, and you can see some of the results on GitHub or as demo videos on the professorship’s blog. We are always looking for industry partners to sponsor a project. Please be in touch if you are interested.
